Edition 02: A Vanilla Drop
An olfactory study of vanilla.
In 1841, a twelve-year-old boy named Edmond Albius stood in a field on the island of Réunion and hand-pollinated a vanilla orchid with a sliver of wood. His discovery transformed one of the rarest botanical curiosities in the world into its most beloved aroma.
This study provides an invitation to encounter vanilla before it became ubiquitous. Experience it in the pod, in the tincture and on the blotter.
Inside:
A hand sourced Madagascar vanilla pod · A 2 ml House of DeuxPies vanilla tincture · Quality scent blotters. One pipette.
Observe the pod. Open the vial. Apply a drop and imbibe the langourous warmth of Vanilla planifolia.
A study by House of DeuxPies. Not for cosmetic use.
